Motivated by our experience of working with many Spanish Bodegas and encouraged by our customer base, we have carefully selected additional wines to represent. These wines are located outside the Spanish border, including countries such as France and Portugal. Through affiliation with Europvin, Jose Maria da Fonseca, and various other wineries, many new and interesting selections are now available for your enjoyment here in the United States. The P.R. Grisley Company was founded on the high quality and passion that the Spanish wineries possess. We feel our new selections retain these same qualities.

Portugal and France

In Portugal, Vinho Moscatel, or Moscatel Wine, is a sweet wine widely produced in the Setúbal Peninsula region, just south of Lisbon, as well as in Favaios, Alijó and other areas of the Portuguese Douro, in northern Portugal. While Portugal is historically known for its impressive Port and Madeira wines, makers are now producing interesting red and white wines, along with a re-introduction of moscatel wines to the U.S market. The availability of these wines is drawing more attention to the Portguese wine industry and the quality of their products, which are quickly gaining popularity.

France is arguably the most well known producer of fine wines the world over. Many countries owe the very existence of their vineyards and wine production to the French. With many producers basing their elaboration methods and wine selections off of French techniques and grape varieties from France, it is no wonder that French wines set the level at which many producers strive to acheive. While many believe French wines to be overpriced, we feel that there is a wide selection of high quality French wines on the market at prices more reasonable than most would think.
